Lab Capabilities

The Quinn lab is equipped with a Thermo QExactiive LC-MS/MS mass spectrometer hosted in the Michigan State RTSF mass spectrometry core center. This instrument is used to profile complex samples related to the microbiome and the data is primarily analyzed through the novel GNPS infrastructure (gnps.ucsd.edu).

We also have all standard equipment needed for a molecular microbiology lab including an anaerobic chamber, biosafety and chemical hoods and freezer storage. We have a large bioinformatics room for data analysis and we are working on installing a lab bar, but so far haven’t received the ok from the higher powers.
